| Perhaps the least exploited part of Prague. Some kavarnas will transport you 50 years back; retrieve your souls in cajovnas sipping one of the hundreds of teas they offer. All Cajovnas are non-smoking (it's part of the experience) except for basama; don't forget to take your shoes off entering those quiet mazes. Kavarnas and cajovnas close early. |
| Imperial Na Porici 15, P1 – New town Tram 5, 14, 26 Mass. Nadrazi 08 – 24 daily |
It’s just so beautiful - tiled walls, wooden floor... Just go there, order a coffee (you get a free doghnut), take a book and watch people going around in a slow beautiful pace. For a splurge you get to throw a huge bowl of "saturnins doghnuts” (read the books) at all the customers for 1943 Kc. You must be sober and over 21 they say. Crazy city ! |

A few yards from the hassle of Wenseslas square, transport yourself to a different century. Elegant, yet informal café, with good coffee. |
Meduza Kavarna Belgicka 17, P2 - Vinohrady Tram / metro Namesti Miru 11-01 daily |
This little cafe, tucked in a street off Namesti Miru has got quite a reputation already for the local population. Sit, relax, watch, enjoy. |

Pumpa Kafe-Bar Belgicka 11, P2 - Vinohrady Tram / metro Namesti Miru 12-01 daily |
Cool colorful Vinohrady hanguout and smoker-friendly (one of the few cafés). Loose yourself between rooms while sipping housemade cocktails. It there’s one drawback, it’s their food. |

Why go there
? It’s seducing, it’s magical, either you get it or you don’t.
If you do, you can easily spend an afternoon here just resting. |

U Dvov Salku 8 Blanicka, P2 – Namesti Miru Tram / metro Namesti Miru 11-23 daily |
Now here’s the ultimage Cajonva experience. Walk down the stairs, take your shoes off and choose between 4 rooms, all different – all cool. Sip you tea (starting at 39 Kc) and smoke your water pipe (89 Kc, 20 different tobaccos) and just be ! Music is good, mix of world music, and reggae. Pity it closes so early. |

A few feet away from the blind eye – so ideal if you need to relax a bit and find your inner soul, before you loose it at blind eye. Stay till you’ve found it and choose between hundreds of teas while playing card or any of the board games they have. Small, simple, homey feel. |

Cajovna Janovského 44, P7 - Holesovice Tram 12, 14, 15, 17 14-22 daily |
Relaxed hidden spot, where vibe and people are very cool. Right by Culb Zlata Pupa, an OK vinarna that serves food. |
Basama Tea café room Socharska 8, P7 - Letna Tram 1, 8, 15, 25, 26 Letenske Namesti 14 – 22 daily |
Now this little hidden place is cool, once you’ve found it, which can be trouble. You first enter into a room with a few tables but a curtain hides two larger backroom rooms, both very cool. Just relax, have some tea, a chichi and a couple joints –yes, the only Cajovna I know of where joint smoking is encouraged. No coffee though, it’s instant –can’t be perfect ! |
